The purpose of the HEAT Program is to assist eligible households in meeting the rising costs of home energy. HEAT is not a welfare program, it is a federally funded Energy Assistance Program that is also known as the LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program), see the state website for more information.
Futures Through Training serves Weber, Davis, and Morgan Counties. Households living in these counties may apply for HEAT assistance through Futures Through Training one time during the program year. The program year runs from October through September of the following year.
HEAT benefits are a ONE-TIME payment only and will not cover your entire yearly energy costs. Therefore, it is important that each household does all they can to keep utility bills current.
IMPORTANT: It is not a requirement to have a shut-off notice or to be shut off to apply for Heat Program.
